This weeks political highlight

MAY ELECTIONS

Expanding gap between low earners and high earners.

From 5 April young people earning less than £18,000 will be paying extra £64 per year with abolishment of 10p tax rate while high earning politicians £100,000 + have benefits of

Groceries - £4,000
Cleaning - £4,981
TV Licences - £116
Mortgage costs - £21,294
Utility bills - £5,235
Flying in the UK - £11,826

Government tell us inflation is approx 2½%, but for low earners, higher Council Tax bills, supermarket food, petrol etc inflation must be near 7% with falling living standards.

With higher cost mortgages, Government borrowing is spiralling upwards, there are calls for lower interest rates. The Bank of England must resist this soft option. Look at what has happened in the states with lower interest rates and more liquid cash. Had no effect at all on the Market. Made matter worse.

Join the Albion Party today work towards £20,000 tax threshold, to take young low earners out of Income Tax.

How safe is your Wealth

Where you surprised to hear that a back street city Solicitor had created a camouflage net to hide the true cost of Mr Hain’s election expenses only £100,000+?. Mr Brown without hesitation should have asked Mr Hain to resign or should have sacked him. Why, because it is the type of behaviour when it goes unchecked, people believe they can get away with it, plus it leads on to corrupt political governments, you only have to look at many African governments e.g. Kenya. Should MPs have a Pay Rise – No. The spending of this government has committed the UK to being mortgaged to the hilt. This cannot be working in the national interest. What will the final cost of the Northern Rock saga be to the taxpayer? The signs are that government spending is going to spiral out of control. Where and how do you start to rebuild a solvent economy? Start with the cost of running parliament, have a two year halt on any new bills, this would allow civil servants and politicians to sort out the mess, that our bureaucracy is in. Then cut by half the number of bills presented to Parliament, this would reduce the work load of MPs by 25%; a pay rise would be in the form of reduced hours of work. Politician would have to deliver it, to earn it. The electorate needs to demand that this, week and incompetent prime minister should call a general election or we shall all lose the wealth that we have earned over the last 25 years.

New Years Message

The death of Benazir Bhutto is a threat to those of us who believe in a non violent democratic society and it is vitally important that those people who threatened violence get a clear uncompromising message that we are not frightened or intimidated by the threat of death.

What direction for Pakistan? The P.P. Party needs to decouple itself from the Bhutto family perhaps Alizam Ahsan or Ifhkhar Choudry should be leader. Mr Ahsam does not mind ruffling the feathers of the military, standing as an Independent candidate he could unite Pakistan into a democratic society?

Europe, a promised referendum. The European Union Reform Treaty is too complicated for a referendum and not practical. The electorate should be given the opportunity to demonstrate whether they want to travel down the high speed rail track of full integration which the current government is proposing only to leave the Red Bench Mark Ribbons to be cut in the future or do we return to what was originally planned to be an economic free-trade partner. This spring Brown needs his ears to ring on this issue. The Summit in Portugal which Mr Brown refused to attend because Mr Mugabe was attending, demonstrates a immaturity government. A great opportunity to make the ears of Mugabe and all other African leaders ring. Why is that so many Africans are so poor while the African continent is so rich in reserves? Where does all the money go?

Why do they encourage China to buy all their resources use Chinese labour, send the resources back to China to be processed into goods for export? Is it that no questions are asked, because the rich and powerful are having their ego’s massaged. The riots in Kenya I guess are only the tip of the iceberg. If Mugabe’s regime is as bad as Zimbabwean’s say the expatriates who work in Europe and send regular money parcels to Zimbabwes are only subsidise this Mugabe government. Halting this subsidy would be a major ingredient to the downfall of the Mugabe government.

Independent Scotland

The General Election should be the decision time for Scots. Do they want to remain in the Union – yes or no. Those of us who want to remain and see the Union flourish in this Global Market Economy need to know whether Scotland is with us. If Parochial politics are more important, good riddance, they can have Independence within 3 years.

The Economy

This British government has totally misread the financial warning it has had, especially with Northern Rock. Property prices in the USA have been falling for over 12 months. Now the ill winds have reached the UK property market. The reality is after 10 years with Mr Brown as Chancellor, the UK is mortgages to the hilt, while China has all the cash. I don’t call that prudent, but with the government having interfered with Northern Rock, house prices falling while the debt expands. Northern Rock should have been left to the market place. If that had meant going bust so be it. Why subsidise speculators and bankers?

Trust

New Labour Government is so obsessed with wanting power at all costs, can it be trusted not to lose voting papers in a General Election. No, the last election threw up faults with electronic voting and vote rigging. This government has lost vital records of approximately 25 million people; thousands of letters go missing each week with Royal Mail. How can anybody put any trust into this government? The only way is for the electorate to make sure they are only returned to the Westminster village with 20 seats. Only then will lessons have been learnt. This is a government who is failing to look after the national interest and does not have a mandate for the very major issues which face the nation. A general election this spring is essential for the nation’s security, as the country is more important then the ambitions of politicians

Comment from James

Climate change will be one of the largest destabilising factors in the future. The choice is quite simple, do nothing and pay the price or meet the challenge head on to at least manage the situation but ideally halt its dramatic change. The making and use of weapons for war whether conventional or nuclear is a large emitter of CO² and a total waste of money. Can the world afford war in 2050. There would be 10 billion people – potentially mass slaughter. How much more CO² will 3 billion people create? Or will they live like 1½ billion do, no water, sanitation on a starvation diet. Even stabilising the World’s population around today’s levels if the 1½ billion people had the same living standards as those of us in the West, how much extra CO² would that create. Does anybody believe that the main political party’s with all their targets will save the planet? Look at this Government’s record. 10 Years and CO² emission are increasing from when they came into Office.

Choose

There are going to be radical changes in our lifestyles in the future. It is a matter of choice which way we go. Stay with New Labour and commit ecological suicide or change our lifestyles working with the Albion Party.

Radical Reform of House of Commons

With 400 women in Parliament, the House of Commons could be radically reformed by implementing family friendly policies, like flexible hours and limit evening work. Introduce proportitional representation plus video computer linkage with other global parliaments, this would greatly stimulate debate on global issues, which would be far superior to Heads of Governments globe trotting around the world on champagne and caviar, Blair being a good example without delivery yet great expense to taxpayers and CO² emissions.

Finance

The levels of National and Personal debt makes the UK Ltd technically insolvent. To forge our way into the global world, firstly you need to be solvent, this being paramount. The banks need to reign in personal debt by 30% over a 3/5 years span, 15 billion which lies dormant in banks and the government is planning to confiscate should be used to pay off national debt, not let the Brown government squander it on the Health Service.

Energy self sufficiency will be vitally important as a contributory factor towards a healthy solvent economy. How will this develop? The UK is surrounded by sea and trade winds, plus rivers and acres of industrial roof space, it should be possible to harness enough energy from wind, sun and currents, without nuclear power and oil fired power stations as long as our population remains at its present level and being 100% more energy efficient. It will require the national grid to be reorganised to allow the input of small electrical generation.
The Bank of England needs to be accountable for all our financial institutions, with our goal being to create London as the number one popular safe trading centre in the World.

Europe

I am in favour of being in the Club as an economic trading partner and cooperating on other common interests, what I am not in favour of is, this creeping political weed whose goal is to have and super state, its own President and Ministers, Embassies etc. What I do think is Brussels needs to get what we have working e.g. fisheries, agricultural policy and its climate change policy.

How can anybody take seriously its policy on climate change when the institution is riddled with corruption, carbon trading scheme is a failure, only secures jobs for Eurocrats, unelected commissioners who believe they have a divine right to travel around in gas guzzling cars. People being flown daily from Brussels to Strasbourg and visa versa. The EU can only be taken seriously, when it sorts itself out. The UK should soldier on with what is in its interest in a global market economy.

Helping Africa

Being rich in mineral resources, UK businesses who develope energy efficient gagets, alternative fuels for future motor car engines, let the small businesses of Africa do the manufacturing. Where there is real poverty rather than give finance to the governments, invest in machinery e.g water pumps etc, letting local people do the construction with educational teams doing the training.
Gordon Brown has the totally wrong approach to handling Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe. Not talking to him will get us nowhere, we ended up having to talk to the IRA. We should be talking to the heads of governments of Botswana, Zambia, Mosambique, Congo, Tanzania and South Africa as once they decide it is time for Robert Mugabe to retire it will happen quite quickly, it is they who give him the support to continue, plus the help of the expatriates who subsidise the Mugabe government with money parcels from their secure and good jobs in Europe.
