Swing and Rocking in Shropshire, the County Salopians enjoy their music, that is why Shropshire is alive with dancing musical festivals and concerts, etc.
Shropshire is very fortunate in that we have our own tower ballroom like Blackpool which is at the Buttermarket Shrewsbury, it is here that this magnificent Wurlitzer lives and is used regularly. Most people view this as a old fashioned machine which belongs to the silent movie era when it was used for background music.
Today it has a role where the sound of orchestral music is needed. This can all be produced by 1 man to witness its success join one of my trips to Wicksteed Park near Kettering to a daytime show time, where Nicholas Martin is musical director as well as being organist for the live comedy shows.
